Elephant Dung

Each elephant produces several kilos of fibrous dung a day.

Elephant Conservation Center is recycling it into beautiful one-of-a-kind unique paper.

Paper is made from the raw fibrous material that is left over after the bio-gas is extracted. The paper is 100% bacteria free, 100% odor free, 100% recycled, & 100% handmade - with the exception of some help from the elephants.

Pictured here is a Writing Set made of Elephant Dung Paper. Set of four individual writing sets (1 envelope & paper) handmade by experts at Elephant Conservation Center. On our Personal Custom Tour, you can select to visit this conservation center. Purchase its beautiful products and see an elephant show and ride an elephant thru the jungle.

Elephant dung paper and the products made from it provides an additional or alternative source of income for elephants. In addition as the process is labour intensive the elephant dung paper provides many jobs. This is especially important as frequently the elephant keeping communities are among those with the lowest earnings.
